SUMMER STYLE GUIDE

SUMMER STYLE GUIDE! Your summer style reset.

Check out our style intern Sophia’s favorite summer outfits and style tips for this year!

Summer is finally HERE, which means it’s time for a summer style reset! Trends come and go, no doubt about that. But, it’s always hard to know which trend really fits you the best and what to shop for when looking for a summer wardrobe. I’m going to try to make that transition into fresh summer outfits easier for you!

Here are some of my favorite looks this summer, from comfy denim looks, to pastel slip dresses, to neon hues to refresh your wardrobe!

1. NEON CRUSH: LIME GREEN

After being inside for so long, it’s time to go out with a bang with a pop of neon this summer! I am definitely someone that struggles finding colorful clothes that I actually like. But I fell in love with this Victoria Secret shirt I was able to find at Goodwill. This lime green color is definitely making a comeback and you will be seeing it all summer. The halter top cut is also reminiscent of 90’s fashion and we’ll be seeing a lot of it in summer fashion this year!

2. MOM JEANS! SUMMER DENIM

A pair of blue 'mom jeans' is definitely a must in your closet this summer. I basically live in these jeans when warm weather hits. It goes perfect with any shirt and can easily be dressed up or down!

3. 90’S BABY! CROPPED SWEATER VESTS

For anyone that easily gets uncomfortable in jeans, which I definitely do, some comfortable white pants are another option that gives the same casual, comfy look. I could truly wear them everyday! These have the perfect cinch at the waist and the fit is amazing. A cropped sweater vest is also a comfy yet statement look with 90’s fashion coming back in full swing this year.

4. ORANGE SODA BABY

This dress has been one of my favorites for the past two summers. A flowy dress screams summertime and I love it. For someone who doesn’t like too much color, this dress was the perfect amount with a beautiful scenery drawn on it.

5. BROWN SUGAR! NEW NEUTRALS.

It's only fitting that we highlight some lovely brown hues for this summer style guide. Brown isn’t just a fall color - you can switch it up for summer! I personally love warm brown tones as a new neutral. For those that love neutral tones, brown is one of the best 'earthy' tones to incorporate in your wardrobe and especially complements our skin tones. Buckle sandals have also been one of my favorite summer shoe looks, and you’ll *definitely* be seeing a lot of them this summer.

6. NOT YOUR LITTLE BLACK DRESS! BABY BLUES

Slip dresses are certainly in vogue this summer but they can run pretty pricey. I love to make my closet more sustainable by trying out different thrift stores! Definitely do not underestimate your local Goodwill. STYLE TIP: Try going over to the sleepwear section instead and you’ll be in awe at how many cute slip dresses you can find and use as a summer dress! You can easily dress these up or down for a different look. These can also be worn with a turtleneck under or a cardigan for a modest look!

DETAILS: Dress: Thrifted from Goodwill, Shoes: Mid AF1s.

7. FRESH FLORALS

Floral tops are a must have and I love this cut - dress them up with some statement jewelry or try them with flared jeans for a vintage look!
